Starbucks Calories & Nutrition

Starbucks, the American mega-coffee house franchise, arrived in the UK in 1998. It’s 2024 now, so they have been in business for 20 years now. Named as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for eight years in a row, presently, there are over 800 outlets, employing 14,000 people in the British Isles. Of course, Starbucks is known for its coffee and for bringing their particularly American version of the corner coffee house to their over 20,519 stores around the world. But they should be just as famous for their nutritious food. They offer a large selection of breakfast, lunch and snack items, many of which are low in calories but high on taste. And, with beverage items as simple a freshly brewed cup of coffee or tea, or as complicated as a Strawberries & Cream Frappuccino Blended Crème. At Starbucks, there is bound to be a drink that appeals to your coffee needs.

Starbucks is very open about sharing its nutritional information, which can be found in a downloadable pdf on its website. Also under the Nutrition section, a particularly useful article, “Our Favourite Parings under 500 Calories” offers healthy options for the patrons. For example, any Skinny Muffin and a Tall Cappuccino, or an All Day Breakfast Panini and a Grande Americano. Other low calories favourites could be the Great British Breakfast (448 kcal, and 22.6 grams of protein) or the Hail Caesar Salad (silly name, but good choice at 189 calories and 24.1 lovely grams of protein).

A word of nutritional caution, though: as you are enjoying the free Wi-Fi and are treating yourself to a nice treat of Lemon Loaf Cake (364 calories) do not be tempted with some of the delicious looking but high fat blended drinks. For example, the Venti Mocha Coconut Frappuccino had 593 calories and 16.8 grams of fat. Not to be outdone, the Venti Mocha Cookie Frappuccino packs a whopping 695 calories and 23.5 grams of fat. Tasty? Yes? Good for your waistline? No.
